Clear Scraps Giveaway

Clearscraps

Today's giveaway is sponsored by Clear Scraps. They recently generously donated some product for an upcoming benefit class/make + take I am doing in Southern Oregon. These are my four favorite products in their clear mini-book line-up:

6x6 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

All Mixed-Up (6 pages, 3 ring)

Scalloped Square Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

8x8 Tab Album (5 pages, 3 ring)

Here's a recent minibook I did that was featured in my Studio A column in the August issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine using the Scalloped Square Album:

Easter1

Notice the square punch + corner rounder again?

Easter2

For this album I used paint as an adhesive. I ran the outer edges of the squares through some paint and laid them down onto the acrylic. It definitely smears as you push it down, but that was part of the fun. I used much more paint on the transparent pieces and less on the photos (the photos are backed with other photos allowing me to adhere them to the acrylic album).

Easter3

Easter4

[ supplies : album: Clear Scraps; transparencies: Hambly Studios; paint and tiny alpha letter stickers: Making Memories, "the easter egg is pretty:" vintage ]

I have two sets of these four albums to giveaway. To be entered into the drawing leave a comment below and let me know what layout/project have you been putting off and why. Comments will be closed today (Thursday) at 5pm Pacific and the winners announced shortly after.

I have been putting off scrapping my christmas photos from last year, and I would LOVE to get them scrapped before this christmas rolls around!

I have been putting off doing an album that displays the evolution of my life during the past year. 15 months ago, my husband of 12 years decided he was ready to move on in life with someone else. Devasted, I had to create a new life for myself and my son. I have documented via journaling and photos the events of the last year as a form of therapy.

How cool! I have been putting off doing a project on my Grandmother. I cannot decide if it should be a mini album or a page. Lately, I have been thinking a lot about her and wish she could have met my son! He would have learned so much from her.

The project I keep putting off is one I saw somewhere...the "just in case book." Just in case something would ever happen to me...it's a little album with a letter to each of the important people in my life. I think it's a fantastic idea and want to do it but keep putting it off for the reason that it does remind you that you won't be around and is kind of depressing to think about. I mean...how can you put into words all of the things you want to say to your husband...children...and loved ones....it's a tough one to start but one I'm sure will be worth it.

I have been putting off several travel albums I would like to make. I have recently had a surge of creative energy and I have taken the first step to get all my photos organized and printed. I must get out of the mentality of chronological scrapping and be motivated by which project sounds most exciting at the moment. Thanks Ali for all the great giveaways.

Love your blog! I have been putting off scrapbooking my trip to Washington DC. I know that I want it to be a mini album, but I just haven't gotten an inspiration of supplies to put together for it.

I've been putting off doing a book on a trip I took to California (I'm from NC). I took this trip 6 (!) years ago as part of a Girl Scout Council group to attend a convention.
I think part of my problem is I'm no longer a volunteer with GS and it was not an amicable parting.
But I really LOVE the pictures - saw and did some things I'll probably never do again (I drove a total of 8 hours in a rented mini-van to take a group of us to Tiajuana (sp?) just so we could say we've been! and we spent a night on the Queen Mary and even talked an employee into letting us see the "haunted" swimming pool).
I just can't seem to get motivated to do them!

I tend to put off anything for myself. There is always something I'm doing for SOMEONE ELSE that needs to be done and is more important.
Except the minibook for my brother and SIL. That I'm stuck on I think because I didn't start it with a limited list of supplies. I have too many supplies for it and when I get things out it's overwhelming.

I have yet to start my daughters baby album (she will be 5 on Monday). Like everyone told me, the first child's will be no problem, the second not so easy. They were right. I do have the pictures ready, so I'm hoping with my scrapbooking weekend coming up in November I will get started on it.

My father died unexpectedly in February back home in New Zealand (I live in the Middle East). Because we have lived so far apart for the last 2 years, I don't think the reality of his absence has hit me yet. Some part of me just assumes he'll be there waiting for me when I next get off the plane. I have a lovely collection of old photos of him as a young man, and many ideas for what to do with them, and even for using my eulogy at the funeral for the journalling, but I'm afraid at the emotions that will be unleashed when I start the project. Need to get some courage together.

I have been putting off finishing my wedding album, and pretty much anything having to do with Christmas. I was overwhelmed with the number of pix I have and just stopped using them.

I have been putting off doing anything from our last vacation and the summer in general. I have the photos sitting there on my desk in a big pile just waiting.

procrastination is my middle name! The biggest project I am putting off - is doing something with all the pictures my dad took while he was in the Navy. He was in during peacetime & on an airflight carrier. He had polariod camera and took a ton of photos. I just want to document these pictures for him, myself and his grandchildren!

Honestly, I've been putting off many of my scrapbooking projects, just been in that funk that sometimes comes and goes. I've been thinking about starting fresh with something I can actually finish in one sitting to give me a sense of closure, since there are so many things yet to be done, and that is ok....even though I haven't got that spark right now, I miss it!

I have totally been putting off working on baby albums for my 3 kids! I know I should because it just gets more overwhelming as time goes on, but I can't seem to come up with a cohesive plan I want to follow. Maybe in the New Year I will feel more motivated (since my youngest is 6 months, I'm a little sleep deprived now :) ).

I have been putting off my summer pictures - we did so many fun adventures that I am overwhelmed to pick out just a few to scrap. We were in Rhode Island for 6 weeks and the beach and sun and surf really inspire me but still feeling overwhelmed to pick out "just the right ones".

I printed b&w photos 3.5 x 4 and they are still a bit to large to fit into my blackboard album. Some will have to be cut to fit on one page and some cut in half to spread along two pages. I've never cut a photo down the middle to put on two pages. I WILL do this, as soon as I get my nerve up.

I've been putting off an album about my daughter's birth (she's not 2 yet, so it's not THAT bad!). The reason is that the story just seems so big and important and I want to get it all right. I know, a story told imperfectly is still better than a story untold!

I have been putting off doing a layout about my daughter's birthday...I feel so much pressure to have the 'perfect' pages for it. I have that problem a lot. It's fun to see how you experiment & have fun with everything. I need to find that again! This should be fun, right? :)

I have been married for 7.5 years and have been putting off doing ANYTHING with those wedding pictures. The problem is, I HATE those pictures because I don't feel pretty in them so don't know if I'd want to devote an entire album to them. Sad, I know, but every woman should feel pretty on their wedding day. We just had a small ceremony in a park and a party in my parents backyard afterwards. I never dreamt of the formal wedding, but now, wish it had been slightly more elegant. Oh well, still good memories and still married to the most understanding man in the world.
